Boys Sydney Uni Pirates over from NSW
The team had never trained together. Their
first meeting was at the airport on the way to Auckland for the Panasonic Pan Pacific
Water Polo Tournament.
Coached by Lindsay Cotterill, his aim was
to develop the boys and give them a chance to play at an International
tournament. The Pirates had no centre forward and had 4 players who were only
14 years of age. The boys were selected for this team after missing out on
being selected for the NSW state team.
They had great time and stayed at the Sacred
Heart College boarding school. The Pirates Team described themselves as a “Barbarian Team” and looked to be having a great time with their swords and pirate flags
poolside. The Pirates finished in 12th out of 28 teams.
