Newbie Manager Lynn Tonkin

Lynn Tonkin, NZ U15 Girls' Team Manager
Lynn Tonkin (photo right) is the newest New Zealand Water Polo Manager to come on board.

She has a background in sports management in variety of sports including; netball, hockey, cricket squash and rowing and has managed School, Club, Regional and New Zealand teams. In her youth Lynn was also a coxan (rowing) for 14 years.

Lynn became a New Zealand manager because her daughter’s school water polo coach is the NZ U15’s Girls’ Coach.

Lynn enjoys water polo because to her it is a completely different sport with completely new skills and is exciting. Lynn says she is still learning and understanding the game and has learnt a lot from Phillip Howat (NZ U15 Assistant Coach) on the bench during games about rules and strategies.

Lynn has also been to Europe and understands how big the sport of Water Polo is over there.

Lynn has loved managing the NZ U15 Girls’ Team
“They are a really neat bunch of girls and the support team behind the girls is amazing”
